Mentee FAQ

1. What is EGIYE?

EGIYE (এগিয়ে), meaning “moving forward,” is a women-led leadership circle connecting Bangladeshi women through intentional, confidence-building mentorship.

We bring together emerging professionals and experienced women leaders in meaningful one-to-one partnerships designed to build clarity, confidence, and direction.

This is not casual advice — it is a curated growth experience.

2. Who can apply to be a mentee?

We welcome Bangladeshi women who are:

  • Final-year students or recent graduates

  • Early- to mid-career professionals

  • Women returning to work or navigating a career transition

More than stage, we look for readiness — a genuine willingness to reflect, engage, and grow.

3. Is this program right for me if I’m unsure about my career path?

Yes. Many women join EGIYE to gain clarity. Mentorship offers a structured space to explore possibilities, refine direction, and build confidence in your decisions.

You do not need to have all the answers. You simply need openness.

4. What is the time commitment?

  • Two 1 hour sessions per month

  • Six-month mentorship cycle

  • Virtual sessions scheduled flexibly

Consistency matters more than intensity.

5. How are mentors matched?

Matches are intentionally curated — never random.

We consider:

  • Your goals and development focus

  • Career stage and professional background

  • Communication style and availability

Every match is reviewed thoughtfully to ensure alignment and quality.

6. Why is this a paid program?

You are not paying for access to a mentor’s time.

You are investing in:

  • Thoughtful matching

  • A structured mentorship framework

  • Accountability and continuity

  • A confidential, professionally managed experience

  • Community access and reflection tools

This structure protects both mentor and mentee — and ensures depth, reliability, and commitment.

7. What happens if my mentor is not a good fit?

Alignment matters.

If, after your first session, the match does not feel right, you may request a review.

Where appropriate, one rematch is offered within the cycle.

We prioritise quality and respect for both parties.

8. What support does EGIYE provide during the program?

Throughout the journey, you receive:

  • A guided onboarding process

  • Conversation prompts and reflection tools

  • Mid-cycle check-ins

  • A safe space to raise concerns

You are supported — but you remain the driver of your growth.

9. Will this help me get a job or promotion?

EGIYE does not guarantee employment or promotions.

Mentorship is not a recruitment service.

What it does provide is:

  • Stronger clarity about your direction

  • Greater professional confidence

  • Expanded perspective

  • More strategic decision-making

Outcomes reflect your effort, engagement, and follow-through.
